What If? is the fifth in a series of poetry explorations by Zia Oboodiyat into human nature and aspirations, the state of the human condition which is often at odds with these aspirations, and the attitudes that can overcome this challenging dichotomy. It aims to help achieve more harmonious and fulfilling lives for humanity at the individual, community and worldwide levels. What if we all pushed back on bad leaders and behaviors and promoted loving, benevolent actions and governance, starting with ourselves?

What If? builds upon the ideas advanced in Zia’s prior four books of poetry. Treasures Within looked at human attributes that provide constructive tools for positively interacting with others and overcome obstacles in life. Is Life a Dream? considered the innate human ability to think and dream beyond what is, thereby creating new opportunities and strategies for improving one’s life and that of others. In Love, the Foundation of Life, Zia observed that we all carry the capability to love ourselves, and can extend that to all of humankind by banishing our negative attitudes and projecting love and positive energy. Inquisitive Thoughts integrated these prior realizations by relating them to typical life situations and human interactions, reiterating the aspirations of individuals and humankind for a harmonious life.

What If? looks at the negative forces and actions that appear to be gaining ground in the world today and provides encouragement to resist those with our own actions at the scale of our own lives and beyond. It is not a how-to handbook but intends to provide inspiration for how to think and act toward more a positive and peaceful life for oneself and all others with whom we share this world.

Editor/designer/illustrator Gerrit van Ommering associated one of his photographs or other images with each poem and essay to enliven the overall presentation and provide added context to the message.

In this book "LOVE, the Foundation of Life", Zia Oboodiyat builds on the ideas advanced in his prior books "Treasures Within" and "Is Life a Dream?" and expressed in poetry and observations. Here he shares his love for humanity and promotes the idea that upon cleansing of self of the pollutions introduced in our heart, mind, and soul, and learning how to love self, human beings then will realize the significance of love and loving one another, and build a world where a unified effort toward improvement of quality of life is shared by all human beings.

In this book Zia Introduces the idea that human beings have the ability to Imagine, Dream and Creatively think. Thus if they aim a dream and use their ability to creatively thinkto plot a path to achieve their dream and utilize their treasures within to overcome any obstacle, he concludes that life is not a dream but we all can live the life we dream

It is thoughtful yet fearless state of mind which allows one to realize the treasures within. Once one has achieved this state, then we, everyone, will dare to share and care for others without any expectation. It is then when infinity is within reach. It is then when unity of mankind on planet earth can be achieved
